AUDIO: Bliss & Alice – “Mama Tried”

After the better part of two years without releasing music, Milwaukee’s Bliss & Alice is back with the much anticipated follow-up to 2014’s “Poetry Volume One – The Shit Talker Tape”. In that time, however, there really wasn’t much of a claim that he had fallen off, however; in fact, it almost felt like the buzz continued to build around Bliss & Alice even without new tracks being released. Today, we get to hear the fruit of two years of labor with “Mama Tried”, eight tracks that push Bliss into a new direction, while still continuing to bring the heat that we had waited for. The long interval between projects was acknowledged too, via a note to the world on Twitter:

Letting the universe unfold is an understatement in this case. A lot has changed in both the world and Bliss & Alice’s life in the last two and a half years, and that’s reflected in “Mama Tried”. The end product of that, however, is eight tracks of incredibly smart, personal bars with the technical, spoken word style that created Bliss & Alice’s sound in the first place.
