When sending me an email about a folk singer named Pokey LaFarge, you run a 50/50 risk of me either thinking that it’s the worst thing ever, or consequently the best thing ever, with no middle ground involved. Luckily for all of us, it was the latter, and thanks in part to Pokey’s video for “Something In The Water”. It’s definitely a quirky tune with an old-timey America sound, but LaFarge does his best to incorporate both old and new styles into his sound. You can check out Pokey on November 12th at Shank Hall.
