AUDIO: R. Ring – “Loud Underneath”
If you’re familiar with either The Breeders or Ampline, you’ll be familiar with at least half of duo R. Ring. Kelley Deal of The Breeders and Mike Montgomery of Ampline combine to form this lo-fi, garage duo. This single is part of a split 7″ with Detroit’s Protomartyr, and is a departure from the normal sound of each member’s other work. Deal is brilliantly innocent, even with the rest of the track chugging along behind her. Make no mistake, however; this song is full of angst and aggression at just the right points. Look for more from R. Ring in the near future, but for now, check out “Loud Underneath”.
