Royal Mill’s “Winter In The South” is a somber ballad with an alt-pop tone. Like all classic midwestern emo, the lyrics are illustrative of the nagging feelings that can be best portrayed through metaphor. This being just their third release, including an EP last year and another single in early 2024, remain curious to see what else Royal Mill has to bring to the table.
