Miss May I Return With “Sanctuary” and Announce New Album ‘No Place For Me’ Out October 2
Ohio metalcore veterans Miss May I are back — and they’re not softening the blow. The quartet have officially announced their eighth full-length album, No Place For Me, arriving October 2 via Solid State Records. It marks their label debut for Solid State and, if the newly released single “Sanctuary” is any indication, it’s shaping up to be one of the heaviest, most introspective chapters in their nearly two-decade run.

“Sanctuary” wastes no time reminding anyone who may have forgotten exactly what Miss May I do best: tight, technical riffing, hardcore grooves that punch holes through drywall, and melodic hooks that linger long after the breakdown ends. Vocalist Levi Benton tears into the track with the kind of catharsis you can only earn after years of wrestling with your own head.
“‘Sanctuary’ is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible,” Benton explains. “It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life, and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like.”
That raw self-interrogation is the emotional engine of the entire record. According to Benton, No Place For Me is the band’s most honest work to date — a full-circle reckoning packed into ten tracks. “No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for,” he says. “Writing it taught me who I actually am, even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.”

Since emerging in 2007, Miss May I — Levi Benton (vocals), Jerod Boyd (drums), Ryan Neff (bass), and Elisha Mullins (guitar) — have carved out a reputation as one of modern metalcore’s most reliable workhorses. 2012’s At Heart debuted at #32 on the Billboard 200, while Deathless (2015) and Shadows Inside (2017) both landed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Independent Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. Their 2022 effort, Curse Of Existence, earned some of the strongest reviews of their career and racked up hundreds of millions of streams along the way. Tours alongside Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, and Motionless In White only cemented their status as a go-to name in the scene.
This summer, fans can catch the band tearing through the main stages at Inkcarceration and Rock Fest before the album drops. Pre-order No Place For Me now and prepare for October 2 — because judging by “Sanctuary,” Miss May I are about to deliver one of the most emotionally gutting metalcore records of 2026.
