Eva Under Fire Unleash Sophomore Album ‘Villainous’ and Premiere Battle Anthem “My Own Name”
Hard rock therapy has officially arrived. Detroit’s Eva Under Fire dropped their sophomore album Villainous today, July 10, via Better Noise Music — and the quintet isn’t just releasing a record, they’re staking a flag in the modern hard rock landscape.
Fronted by vocalist, songwriter, and licensed psychotherapist Amanda Lyberg, Eva Under Fire has built its reputation one hook, one scream, and one sweat-soaked club show at a time. Villainous is the long-awaited follow-up to 2022’s breakout debut Love, Drugs & Misery, and it finds the band fully leaning into the catharsis, grit, and emotional honesty that’s made them one of the most talked-about acts on active rock radio.

To mark the release, the band is premiering the official video for album standout “My Own Name” at 3PM ET today — a defiant, cinematic battle anthem built for anyone who’s ever had to claw back their identity from the people who tried to define them.
“They can call me whatever they want,” Lyberg declares. “I fought my battles and emerged victorious, I reclaimed my own name. I no longer give people a chance and I acknowledge this is a screwed up, unfair world. I will always choose myself.”

Elsewhere on the record, the title track — a scorching duet with In This Moment’s Maria Brink — is already Top 10 at Active Rock radio, further cementing Eva Under Fire’s place among the genre’s heaviest hitters. Deep cuts like “Survive My Scars,” “Don’t Say I’m OK,” “Gasoline,” and the closing gut-punch “A Violent End” prove this isn’t a band resting on momentum; it’s a band leveling up.
Lyberg’s day job as a trauma, grief, and addiction-recovery therapist bleeds directly into the songwriting. She drew on her clinical training to foster open dialogue in the studio, giving every member of the band a voice in the process — and the result is a record that feels both communal and deeply personal. It’s a sound sharpened by lived experience, including the loss of her father to a fentanyl overdose and her mother’s six years of hard-won sobriety.
The album release is only the opening salvo. Later this month, Eva Under Fire hits the road as direct support on Five Finger Death Punch’s 20th Anniversary World Tour 2026 alongside Cody Jinks, with a run stretching from July through October that includes Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Madison Square-sized sheds, and a handful of intimate headline dates in Lakewood, Albany, and Hartford.
With over 100 million career streams, a critically acclaimed debut, a Billboard-charting single in “Unstoppable” (feat. Cory Marks), high-profile film placements in The Retaliators and Sno Babies, and now a sophomore album that delivers on every ounce of hype — Eva Under Fire aren’t the ones to watch anymore. They’re the ones to beat.
Press play on Villainous, turn it up loud, and go reclaim your own name.
