If you’ve ever wondered what happens after the encore ends, the arena lights come up, and the rock star has to face the person staring back in the dressing-room mirror, EKKL Entertainment has a movie for you. ELIJAH PEEL, a faith-based drama with a very rock ‘n’ roll heartbeat, opens exclusively in theaters nationwide on August 14, 2026.

Written, directed, and produced by Kevin D. Sepe, the film is executive produced by Willie Robertson, Korie Robertson, and Terry Lee Harris — yes, that Willie and Korie, of Duck Dynasty fame — and stars Robert Malcolm Cumming (Hell’s Haven, Molar) in the title role. Cumming is joined by newcomer Evelyn Grace Kite, the youngest-ever recipient of the International Christian Film Festival’s Best Actress award, alongside Kevin Sorbo, April Billingsley, and Princess Elmore.

Inspired by a true story, ELIJAH PEEL follows a stadium-filling rock star whose life of fame and addiction comes to a screeching halt after a heart attack nearly costs him everything. During his recovery, Elijah meets a remarkable young girl whose unwavering faith and wisdom beyond her years begin to crack the walls he’s built around his heart. From there, the film charts a journey toward healing, reconciliation, and second chances — the kind of story arc that lands somewhere between a great rock ballad and a Sunday morning revelation.

Cumming anchors the movie with what the filmmakers describe as “equal parts swagger and vulnerability,” carrying Elijah from the heights of rock stardom through the depths of addiction to the fragile first steps of redemption. Sorbo, meanwhile, plays Elijah’s talent manager, and Kite provides much of the film’s beating heart.

“From the moment we saw ELIJAH PEEL, we knew it was something special,” said Michael Scott, co-founder of EKKL Entertainment. “It’s a deeply moving story about second chances, human connection, and the power of hope.”

Willie and Korie Robertson added, “This is a story about faith and connection that we immediately believed in. We’re proud to be part of bringing this film to audiences.”

Music fans, take note: the soundtrack is not an afterthought. Produced by Sepe himself and published by Harris Sepe Music, the original score blends rock, soul, and faith-driven themes, with standout tracks including “Life Too Short, Story Too Old,” “River Deep,” “Can You Feel It,” “The Wild Ones,” and “Not an Ordinary Love.” In a film about a rock star, the music has to earn its keep — and by all indications, it does.

Shot on location in and around Memphis, Tennessee, ELIJAH PEEL will get a special advance screening in Franklin, Tennessee on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at AMC Thoroughbred 20, with red carpet arrivals at 6:00 PM and the screening kicking off at 7:00 PM.
