Five Finger Death Punch Snag 18th No. 1 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart with “Eye Of The Storm”
Five Finger Death Punch have done it again — and honestly, at this point it would be more surprising if they didn’t. The multi-platinum Las Vegas hard rock juggernauts have just landed their 18th No. 1 single on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart with their crushing new anthem “Eye Of The Storm,” further extending their record for the longest streak of consecutive No. 1 hits in the 45-year history of the chart. If there’s a rock radio throne, 5FDP have soldered themselves to it.
“Eye Of The Storm” is the towering first single from Legacy, the band’s forthcoming tenth studio album. The track pairs pummeling metallic chug with the kind of soaring melodic lift that has become the band’s signature, while Ivan Moody delivers a vocal performance that swings between introspection and full-throated catharsis — wrestling with fear, regret, and the search for some kind of peace on the other side of the noise. Revolver called it a “flurry of battering metal chugs with a sense of melody,” and Loudwire dubbed it a “driving, furious banger.” Both are correct.

The wins don’t stop at the top of the chart. The RIAA just handed out a fresh stack of certifications to the 5FDP catalog: previous No. 1s “Welcome to the Circus” and “Darkness Settles In” are now officially Gold, 2015 heavy-hitters “Jekyll and Hyde” and “Wash It All Away” have gone Platinum, and fan-favorite “A Little Bit Off” just cracked double Platinum. Considering the band has already piled up 15 billion global streams, more than a dozen RIAA certifications, and 30 Top 10 rock hits, adding another handful of plaques to the wall feels almost routine — but it’s a hell of a way to set the table for a new album cycle.
Speaking of that album — Legacy arrives digitally on July 31, with CD, vinyl, and cassette editions following on September 18. The band has also dropped another new song, “De Oppresso Liber,” which is streaming now and offers another taste of what the tenth chapter of the Five Finger Death Punch story is going to sound like. Spoiler: heavy, hooky, and built for arenas.
And arenas are exactly where they’re headed. On July 20, Five Finger Death Punch kick off the North American leg of their 20th Anniversary World Tour with special guests Cody Jinks and Eva Under Fire, running coast to coast through amphitheaters and arenas before heading overseas in early 2027 for a UK/EU run with Lamb Of God and Bleed From Within. The trek is both a victory lap and a statement — a celebration of two decades that took the band from their 2005 formation and 2007 debut The Way Of The Fist to the top of the global hard rock food chain. Expect new material from Legacy alongside the anthems that built the empire.
Twenty years in, 18 No. 1s deep, and still swinging harder than most bands half their age — Five Finger Death Punch aren’t just riding out the storm, they’re clearly the eye of it. Pre-order Legacy, grab tour tickets while good seats last, and get loud.
