From Ashes to New Take a Stand Against Bullying With New Single “Die For You” and HeartSupport Partnership

From Ashes to New aren’t just having a moment — they’re stringing them together like power chords in an anthem. The Pennsylvania five-piece — Danny Case (vocals), Matt Brandyberry (vocals), Lance Dowdle (guitar), Maty Madiro (drums), and Jimmy Bennett (guitar) — are launching their new radio single “Die For You” from their recently released album REFLECTIONS, out now via Better Noise Music. And they’re doing it while drawing a line in the sand against bullying.

“Die For You” follows “Drag Me,” the band’s first-ever No. 1 at rock radio, and it’s already racking up receipts of its own. The track has surpassed 11 million global streams and is outpacing much of the current Active Rock Top 10 — no small feat for a band that just notched a career-defining chart-topper.

But this rollout isn’t just about numbers. It’s about the humans behind them. After posting a video of a young fan singing “Die For You” from the crowd, the band noticed cruel comments piling up and immediately clapped back — both online and from the stage. Brandyberry addressed the behavior mid-set, made it clear the FATN community has zero tolerance for that kind of nonsense, and personally reached out to the fan to promise her lifetime guest lists to their shows. That’s not a PR move. That’s a mission statement.

“All I could see was a beautiful soul having a beautiful moment,” Brandyberry says. “As a father of a son who dealt with some of these same things, there is no way I would let that behavior go unaddressed. Our fans mean everything to us and I will always do whatever I can to make them feel safe in our fandom.”

Case, never one to mince words, doubled down: “I will always use my platform to fight back against assholes, especially when it comes to our fans. Growing up, I was the scrawny undersized kid with red hair so I know what it’s like to be targeted. Sometimes, all it takes is having someone stand up for you to make a difference. So when people say ‘Ignore the haters,’ I say kick them in the f**kin’ teeth.”

Backing up the words with action, From Ashes to New have teamed with Fandiem and HeartSupport — the mental health organization founded by August Burns Red’s Jake Luhrs — for a flyaway promo to Louder Than Life in Louisville this September. The lucky winner scores flights, hotel, a meet and greet, a pair of VIP passes, a signed guitar and merch bundle, plus side stage access during FATN’s set. The partnership underscores a long-term commitment to mental health awareness and dismantling the stigma around asking for help.

REFLECTIONS is the follow-up to 2023’s chart-conquering BLACKOUT, and it almost didn’t exist in its current form. The band famously scrapped 16 finished demos to start nearly from scratch — a gutsy pivot that paid off in the form of “Drag Me” hitting No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and cementing the band’s evolution without sacrificing what made them tick in the first place. “I wanted to take what we are good at and push it even further,” Brandyberry says. “That was the process for this whole record.”

From Ashes to New are on the road all year with Shinedown, hitting arenas across North America through the summer before rolling into festival season with stops at Louder Than Life (9/17), Aftershock (10/1), a headliner in Mexico City (10/4), and Shinedown’s Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend in Miramar Beach, FL (10/23).

Crank “Die For You,” support the artists doing the work, and if you see someone getting piled on in the comments — take a page from the FATN playbook and stand up for them.
