If you’ve been mourning the golden age of third-wave emo, dry your eyeliner-smudged eyes — Car Underwater are here to fill the void, and they’ve just dropped a blistering new live visual to prove it.

The LA-based supergroup — featuring vocalist Max Epstein (Photographic Memory, Wisp, Jane Remover), guitarist Sonny Foster, drummer Zach Capitti-Fenton (Photographic Memory, Wisp), bassist Nolan Nunes (Ghostmane), and Australian producer/keyboardist/vocalist Darcy Baylis (Ninajirachi, daine, After) — have unveiled a brand new live rendition of “Heaven In Hindsight,” filmed in Los Angeles. It’s a raw, sweat-soaked burst of screamo catharsis that captures exactly why this band is generating so much buzz coming out of the gate.

Pulled from their debut EP Dagger Breaks Window, “Heaven In Hindsight” channels the DNA of From First To Last, Underoath, and Thursday while pushing those touchstones into thoroughly modern territory. It’s emotionally heavy, highly combustible, and refreshingly willing to break the contemporary emo blueprint into pieces.

The timing of the live visual is no accident. Car Underwater are currently in the middle of a whirlwind UK and EU run that includes two enormous support slots with Bring Me The Horizon at Manchester’s B.E.C. Arena — alongside Static Dress, Dying Wish, Rolo Tomassi, Heriot, Still In Love, and Showing Teeth — as BMTH performs their debut album Count Your Blessings live in full.
