Becky Hill Drops New Single “what do i have to do?” Ahead of Third Album ‘REBECCA’ — Out September 25
Becky Hill is not slowing down. The two-time BRIT Award winner has just dropped “what do i have to do?”, the newest single from her hotly anticipated third album REBECCA, arriving September 25 via Polydor Records/Astralwerks. Following “More! More! More!” — Radio 1’s Hottest Record — and the euphoric lead single “Hands On Me,” this latest offering is another bold step into the emotionally charged, chaos-embracing world Becky has built for her next era.
Driven by pounding electronic production, monstrous basslines and Becky’s unmistakable, sky-scraping vocal, “what do i have to do?” walks the tightrope between wanting to hold on and finally knowing when to let go. On its glossy surface, it sounds like a desperate plea to save a relationship, but scratch a little deeper and it becomes something much more revealing — a commentary on Becky’s own experiences of trying to meet everyone else’s expectations, and the toll that takes.
The accompanying video is where things get properly interesting. Continuing the sharp, satirical visual language introduced by “More! More! More!,” Becky fronts what appears to be a familiar “Get Ready With Me” vlog before it warps into an unsettling parody of online beauty culture and looksmaxxing. Every exaggerated beauty treatment is paired with real, genuinely awful comments Becky has received about her appearance on social media. It’s darkly funny, deeply uncomfortable, and a pointed jab at the relentless scrutiny women continue to face online.
The track offers another glimpse into REBECCA, an album Becky describes as “curated chaos.” Across the record, she blends the dance and drum & bass foundations that built her career with broader indie and alternative influences, writing with more openness than ever before about ambition, visibility, self-worth, and the tension between desire and self-preservation. Physical formats include a numbered limited-edition red vinyl, black vinyl and CD, with album bundles from Becky’s official store including a signed art card.
Becky’s summer touring plans continue as she rolls toward release day, with a run of headline outdoor shows and festival appearances lined up across the UK and Europe:

With over 10 billion global streams, multiple UK Top 10 singles, a UK Top 3 album (2024’s Believe Me Now?), and a stacked collaborator list that includes David Guetta, Tiësto and Chase & Status, Becky Hill has firmly cemented her place as one of the UK’s most influential and successful artists. REBECCA looks set to raise that bar even higher.
