Italian symphonic power metal outfit TEMPERANCE are shuffling the deck and dealing out something magical. The five-piece has announced their seventh studio album, Arcani, arriving October 16 via Napalm Records — and if the first taste is any indication, this one is going to hit like a lightning bolt from The Tower itself.

Built around the mystical framework of the Major Arcana, Arcani sees each of its 13 tracks channel the energy of a different Tarot card. It’s not quite a concept album, but it’s the kind of thematic tightrope walk that only a band this ambitious would attempt — and pull off with a wink and a symphonic flourish.

Leading the charge is the album’s first single, “The Devil: Sin, Sin, Sin,” a dramatic, chorus-forward anthem that leans hard into the darker corners of the deck. The track spotlights TEMPERANCE’s signature multi-vocalist attack, layering the interplay between Kristin Starkey, Michele Guaitoli, and Marco Pastorino over cinematic instrumentation and a hook that refuses to leave your head.

“We’ve decided to begin our journey into the world of Arcani with a brand-new metal anthem for our upcoming setlists,” says guitarist Marco Pastorino. “‘Sin, Sin, Sin’ embodies The Devil card, opening the gates to the world of Tarot within the context of TEMPERANCE. Across its 13 tracks, Arcani promises a full tour of TEMPERANCE’s sonic universe — from the uplifting opener “The Fool” and the blazing “The Magician: Into the Fire,” to the emotionally weighted mid-tempo burner “Death: Right Before We Die,” and the hard-rock curveball “The Tower: Lean Into Fear.” Elsewhere, “The Chariot: Alla Ricerca dell’America” folds in Italian lyrics and a Swedish nod to Starkey’s adopted home, while closer “The World” strips things back to acoustic guitar and predominantly female vocals for a finale that feels like the deep exhale after a long, victorious journey.

TEMPERANCE will also be hitting the road hard this fall, playing KAMFEST in Tilburg on October 31 before joining KAMELOT’s Dark Asylum World Tour (Europe Pt. 1) alongside EXIT EDEN, with stops across the UK, Germany, Switzerland, France, Poland, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Italy, and Spain through late November.
