Los Angeles slime merchants SQUID PISSER — the brainchild of Tommy Meehan (aka Grodius Maximus of GWAR) — have announced their new full-length EP “Throat Slave,” due August 28th via SKiN GRAFT Records and SWEATBAND Records. To mark the occasion, the band has unleashed the lead single “Mucus,” along with a suitably deranged official music video.

Following 2024’s sensory-overload benchmark “Dreams of Puke,” “Throat Slave” is billed as a “full-length EP” — five original songs, six remixes, and a foreboding, fear-fraught preface that push the band’s already-warped universe into even darker territory. It’s SQUID PISSER’s most immersive and fully realized work to date, retaining every ounce of their unstable identity while opening up new avenues of groove, atmosphere, and dynamic tension.

This is also the first SQUID PISSER release to prominently feature the creative contributions of guitarists Michael Armendariz and Raz Azraai, whose songwriting broadens the band’s sonic vocabulary. Alongside founder Tommy Meehan and Starcrawler’s Seth Carolina, the expanded lineup drills deeper into paranoia, confrontation, and release. Beneath the record’s recurring imagery of vermin, tumorous growths, leeches, and bodily decay lies a more universal struggle: reclaiming one’s identity from manipulation, illusion, and the stories imposed by others.

If Side A documents the organism, Side B documents its mutation. The remix roster reads like a who’s-who of the underground: queer-cult icon PLACK BLAGUE, minimalist noise-pop duo HYPER GAL, DRUMCORPS, FARTBARF, Ecology: HomeStones, dj Embryonic Petit Sac, and ZENI GEVA’s KK NULL (contributing an exclusive CD-only remix). Rather than functioning as bonus material, the remixes operate as a second act — transforming familiar themes into electronic hallucinations, industrial rituals, mutant dance music, and psychedelic fever dreams.

Accompanied by the luminous and deeply unsettling artwork of Bora Murmure, “Throat Slave” will be released on Irradiated PINK colored vinyl with a collectible Footlong OBI and an unedited, explicit lyric sheet. A glass-mastered CD in a deluxe six-panel tri-fold jacket will also be available, alongside an Ultimate Edition Bundle pairing the CD and vinyl. Both the Ult-Ed and CD include the exclusive KK Null remix.
