Twenty years on, Let Love In still hits like a Sunday morning after a long Saturday night — and Goo Goo Dolls aren’t about to let the anniversary slip by quietly. Today, the Buffalo-bred rock lifers premiered a hushed, “Live and Intimate” rendition of “Stay With You,” offering the first taste of Let Love In (20th Anniversary Expanded Edition), due July 24 via Warner Records.

Recorded during a special session at the legendary Capitol Studios, the new version trades the album cut’s stadium sheen for something closer to a candle-lit confession. John Rzeznik’s voice sits front and center, the arrangement pulled back just enough to remind you why “Stay With You” became the kind of song people slow-dance to at weddings twenty years after its release.

The 21-track expanded edition packages the original 2006 album — which peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA in 2019 — alongside 10 newly captured Live and Intimate performances. A limited red-eye vinyl pressing will also be available, complete with a 12-page lyric booklet (note: the LP does not include the Live and Intimate session; those recordings live on the 2xCD and digital editions).

The timing couldn’t be sharper. “Iris,” the band’s Diamond-certified 1998 juggernaut, is enjoying yet another cultural moment thanks to the viral “Mom/Dad, what were you like in the 90s?” trend — a phenomenon that has racked up more than 10 billion views and pulled in everyone from Will Smith, Serena Williams and Dwayne Johnson to SZA, Snoop Dogg, Aerosmith and the Backstreet Boys. The track has now crossed 6 billion streams globally, with more than 1 billion of those coming in 2025 alone, and was recently nominated for Best Throwback Song at the American Music Awards. Not bad for a song that first hit airwaves during the Clinton administration.

Fresh off a sold-out Las Vegas residency in May, Goo Goo Dolls are taking the show back on the road this summer with Neon Trees in tow. The extensive U.S. run kicks off July 24 in Lincoln, CA and rolls through Minneapolis’ Mystic Lake Amphitheater, Milwaukee’s BMO Pavilion, Cincinnati’s Rose Music Center at The Heights, Pittsburgh’s The Pavilion at Star Lake, Richmond’s Allianz Amphitheatre at Riverfront and Charleston’s Credit One Stadium, before wrapping the festival season at iHeartRadio Music Festival, Sea.Hear.Now and Oceans Calling in September.
