Boston’s most talked-about alternative rock exports are officially out of the garage and onto the world stage. Fai Laci today release their eagerly awaited full-length debut, Elephant In The Room, via Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound. Recorded at Auerbach’s Nashville studio with the Black Keys frontman himself behind the boards, the album is a swaggering, riff-forward statement that fuses the urgency of punk, the stomp of glam, and the theatricality of classic rock into something distinctly their own.

Leading the charge is the anthemic opener “Cure Upon The Hill,” a track that captures everything great about this band in one sweeping arc — soaring hooks, dynamic songwriting, and just enough grit to keep things honest.

“‘Cure Upon The Hill’ is about reaching for that higher thing and wondering if getting there will actually fill a void,” says frontman and founder Luke Faillaci. “The verse, chorus, and outro were all written months apart from each other giving the sections a distinct yet cohesive feel. This one was one of the most fun to record, and Dan Auerbach’s slide guitar part in the chorus might be my favorite part on the whole record.”

Fai Laci — Luke Faillaci, Michael Goldblatt, Zack Putnam, Cal Hamandi, and Anthony Cervone — first turned heads with a pair of scrappy independent EPs, 2022’s Conversation and 2024’s Knock at My Door, which together have piled up more than 15 million streams thanks to standout tracks like “Five” and “Gypsy Lover.” After signing to Easy Eye Sound in 2025, the band unleashed a string of acclaimed singles including “Elephant,” “Angels And The Others,” “Grains Of Sand” (featured on the cover of Spotify’s “New Noise” playlist), and the explosive “Have You Nothing Left To Say.”

Across its ten tracks, Elephant In The Room proves the hype is warranted. From the decadent strut of “Sarasota” to the tender ache of “She Knows” and the handclap-punctuated groove of “Headlights,” the record is confident and surprisingly diverse — brazen rockers sitting comfortably next to bruised-heart ballads. Critics have already drawn comparisons to Cage the Elephant, MC5, Foster the People, and Empire of the Sun, but Fai Laci’s sharp swagger and Faillaci’s boundless charisma make Elephant In The Room feel like its own beast entirely.

“We never set out to make a certain kind of sound,” says Faillaci. “It takes us wherever it takes us. We got more into the rock side of things on the album, but we also wanted to have some really beautiful songs on it. We wanted to have something for everybody.”

Fresh off a special-guest run on The Black Keys’ “Peaches ‘n Kream World Tour,” Fai Laci are hitting the road hard behind the album. Highlights include sold-out headline shows, a coveted festival slot at Austin City Limits Music Festival on October 3, and a full run supporting Dogpark through the summer. Upcoming stops include Cleveland’s Beachland Ballroom, Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern, New Haven’s Toad’s Place, Asbury Park’s Stone Pony, Athens’ 40 Watt, and Chicago’s Cobra Lounge, with additional dates on the way.
