Vincent Mason is not letting up. The Interscope/Lost Highway/Music Soup signee just released “What You Want,” a new single that trades big-swing production for something quieter, sharper, and — if we’re being honest — a lot harder to shake.

Co-written with frequent collaborator Jack Rauton, “What You Want” leans into the kind of relationship that keeps rewriting its own ending. It’s the text you shouldn’t send, the drive you shouldn’t take, the chorus you can’t stop humming. Mason’s conversational lyricism does the heavy lifting here, with a hook that balances longing and resignation in the same breath. A plucky acoustic guitar anchors the whole thing, letting the vulnerability do the talking.

The release lands during a stretch that would make most artists dizzy. Mason currently has two entries on the Billboard Hot 100 — “Damned If I Do” at No. 88 (also No. 22 on Hot Country Songs) and his Stella Lefty duet “Something To Lose” at No. 72 (No. 16 on Hot Country Songs). He’s fresh off a 2026 ACM New Male Artist of the Year nomination, a No. 3 peak on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart, and a spot on Spotify’s 2026 Artists to Watch program as one of only four country artists tapped for the honor.

Add in a late-night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a CMAFest set at Nissan Stadium where he delivered “Damned If I Do” and “Something To Lose” with Stella Lefty, and more than 500 million career streams — plus a Platinum plaque for “Hell Is A Dance Floor” and Gold for “Damned If I Do” — and the “rising star” tag starts to feel like an understatement. “Damned If I Do” officially impacts country radio July 13th via Lost Highway Records.

Mason’s live year has been just as loud. He spent the spring opening arenas and stadiums for Morgan Wallen on the I’m The Problem Tour, following previous runs with Riley Green, Jordan Davis, Megan Moroney, and Parker McCollum. His own sold-out There I Go Tour packed rooms in Houston, Nashville, New York City, and Boston, with international dates continuing to build his footprint in Canada, the UK, and Australia.
