Texas metal upstarts GORE. are not here to whisper — they’re here to sound the alarm. The four-piece, fronted by vocalist Haley Roughton alongside guitarist Alex Reyes, bassist Devin Birchfield, and drummer Wills Weller, have returned with their most confrontational offering yet: a brand new single and video for “Lead Me to the Slaughter.”

Where a lot of bands would settle for surface-level aggression, GORE. aim their crosshairs directly at the false gods of the modern age. “This song is about being indoctrinated into a cult, and idolizing what kills you,” the band explains. “Idolatry is rampant beyond human repair with social media — we now look at people like they’re gods. We idolize money, fame, and beauty more now than we ever have as a society. These idols will lead us to nothing but guilt, shame, and suffering.”

It’s a heavy thesis, and GORE. back it up with heavier riffs. “Lead Me to the Slaughter” swings between crushing low-end grooves and Roughton’s snarling, emotionally raw delivery — the exact combination that landed the band on Revolver’s “Bands You Need To Know” list and earned them a nod as one of NME’s 2025 Essential Emerging Artists, who described their output as “cutting-edge modern metal at its most vulnerable.”

The new single builds on the momentum of their 2025 EP IF YOU DO NOT FEAR ME… and their 2024 Spinefarm debut A Bud That Never Blooms, cementing GORE. as one of the most vital new voices in heavy music — and one bringing a distinctly feminine perspective to a scene that desperately needs it.
