Portland, Oregon’s masked nu-metal maniacs Amerakin Overdose are back with a new gut-punch of a single, “Oxygen,” and they’ve packed a summer’s worth of tour dates around their third appearance at Wisconsin’s legendary Rock Fest in Cadott. If you’ve been waiting for the shock rockers to swing through your town, 2026 is officially your year.

“Oxygen” continues the band’s evolution into darker, more theatrical territory, blending crushing riffs, industrial textures, and the kind of hook-driven aggression that has made Amerakin Overdose a must-see live act. Frontman Cody Perez explains the emotional core of the track: “‘Oxygen’ is about the dangerous illusion of dependency—the belief that you can’t survive without someone or something, even when it’s destroying you. It’s about mistaking poison for air, and the struggle to break free from the things we cling to for survival.”

The song was produced by Jonny Santos (Spineshank/Silent Civilian) alongside Nikolas Roy Quemtri, the same creative team behind the band’s recent string of increasingly ambitious singles. The accompanying music video, filmed and edited by Drumwell Media, leans hard into the band’s signature masked personas and cinematic flair.

The new single is the latest chapter in a wildly prolific run for Amerakin Overdose. Since dropping their third album Artificial Infection in July 2024, the band has fired off a genre-twisting cover of Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle,” the pummeling “Point of No Return,” the Jonny Santos-featuring “Nothing (Without You),” a gleefully unhinged holiday reimagining of “Feliz Navidad,” and 2026’s explosive “Time Bomb” featuring Tauren Blackman. They even dropped their first-ever acoustic track, “My Endless Battle,” a raw, unmasked meditation on mental health inspired by Perez’s own journey of recovery.

Now they’re taking it all to the stage. “We are beyond thankful and excited to be a part of the big Rock Fest for the 3rd time. The festival is amazing,” the band shares. “This gives us an excuse to play some shows along the way and play in some cities we don’t really get to play often. If we are playing anywhere within a couple of hours away, our show is worth making the drive. Come see us and let’s rage!”
