Italian power metal sextet Frozen Crown are trading sunlit battlefields for something a whole lot more sinister. Today, the band has unveiled “The One,” the first single from their upcoming sixth album, The Legend of the Six Kings, arriving October 2 via Napalm Records — and yes, if the title has your Tolkien senses tingling, that is very much the point.

“The One” marks a decisive tonal shift for Frozen Crown. Lead vocalist Giada “Jade” Etro turns heel, claiming the literal frozen crown and leading a procession of wraith kings on a hunt that will feel deeply familiar to anyone who’s ever gotten emotionally invested in a piece of jewelry. Directed by Raoul Noise with props designed by Daria Gislon, the video builds a world that sits squarely between J. R. R. Tolkien’s regal aesthetics and Robert E. Howard’s Conan-flavored brutality. The song itself is classic Frozen Crown DNA — sweeping melodies, grand choruses, and a majestic three-guitar solo where new recruit Aleksandra Stamenkovic’s old-school, abrasive leads intertwine with Federico Mondelli and Alessia Lanzone.

The Legend of the Six Kings picks up the narrative thread from Frozen Crown’s 2018 debut The Fallen King, continuing the saga of the Kings and the Tyrant across ten new tracks that push the band deeper into darker, more concise power metal territory. Expect everything from raw speed metal (“Lightning in the Sky”) to symphonic magniloquence, plus a genuinely audacious power metal reworking of Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 mega-ballad “Iris.” Because if any song deserved a waltz-time-to-blast-beat glow-up, it was that one.

North American fans can catch them supporting Kamelot with special guests Visions of Atlantis from August 28 through September 27, with stops in Orlando, Dallas, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Toronto, New York and more. European dates follow with Beast in Black and Sonata Arctica from October 26 through November 25, hitting London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Stockholm and beyond.
