Los Angeles indie trio Kid Sistr — Sabel (guitar/vocals), Becca Webster (drums/vocals), and Sara Keden (bass/vocals) — are officially having the kind of year most bands only manifest on their vision boards. Fresh off the release of their new EP, American Teenage Prophecy, the group has announced a sprawling fall North American tour supporting The Wrecks, kicking off October 15 at The Depot in Salt Lake City and rolling through Chicago, Toronto, New York, Nashville, and beyond before landing at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on November 25. General on-sale begins Friday at 10am local time, so set your alarms accordingly.

American Teenage Prophecy is a five-track blast of hooky, sharp-tongued alt-rock co-produced by Suzy Shinn (Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Dua Lipa) at her home studio in Los Angeles. If you’re wondering what that combination sounds like, imagine the swagger of a ’90s alt-rock radio dial being commandeered by three friends who refuse to take themselves — or your gender norms — too seriously. Spin has already tipped a hat to the trio’s “irreverent humor,” Forbes clocked their “delicious mid-tempo ’90s alt-rock tones,” and NYLON summed up the ethos with characteristic flair: “F*ck your gender norms, wear the d*mn skirt.”

The EP builds on a string of singles that set the tone across the spring — the exhilarating title track “American Teenage Prophecy,” the raucous “Shitshow,” the sapphic love letter “Maniac,” and “Boys In Skirts,” which earned praise from both NYLON and Consequence. Closer “Guts” ties the whole thing together with the kind of danceable, wistful punch that makes Kid Sistr feel less like a buzz band and more like your new favorite trio.
