Pia Toscano Signs With Nashville’s Melody Place, Drops New Single “Redirected” July 10
Pia Toscano is officially entering a bold new chapter — and she’s doing it Music City style. The powerhouse vocalist and former American Idol frontrunner has signed an exclusive label deal with Nashville-based Melody Place, joining a roster that already includes Sara Evans, Katharine McPhee, Jackie Evancho, Jasmine Amy Rogers, and Braden Hull. Her first single for the label, “Redirected,” arrives July 10, with more music promised throughout 2026 and 2027.
For Toscano — who’s called Nashville home since 2021 and even got married there in 2024 — the signing feels like a long-awaited creative homecoming. “I’m incredibly excited to be releasing this next chapter of music with Melody Place,” she says. “After years of navigating this industry, it feels so good to finally have a team that is fully invested… not only in the music, but in me as an artist and person. There’s something really powerful about being surrounded by people who believe in your vision as deeply as you do, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been creating together.”
The admiration is mutual. Melody Place President and General Manager Sandy McGraw calls Toscano “one of the greatest vocal talents alive today,” adding, “Pia is not only talented, but also genuinely kind. She has so much love and thoughtfulness to share with the world, so it’s exciting to help her write this next chapter and allow the world to hear the amazing new music and direction she’s going.”
Co-written with Stacey Kelleher, “Redirected” is arguably the most personal song Toscano has ever released. The track is built around a phrase she’s repeated to herself for years — “Rejection is God’s protection.” “Every time something I deeply wanted and prayed for didn’t work out, I would tell myself it was simply redirection… a way to soothe my soul and trust there was something greater ahead,” she explains. “Writing this song with Stacey Kelleher made me realize that what I thought was self-comfort was actually faith. The closed doors, heartbreak, and unanswered prayers weren’t setbacks at all… they were part of the plan all along. ‘Redirected’ is about surrendering control and trusting that sometimes the life you’re meant for begins the moment your original plan falls apart.”
It’s a fitting anthem for an artist whose career itself is a masterclass in redirection. Toscano first captured the country’s attention on Season 10 of American Idol, where her jaw-dropping vocal command and stage presence made her an instant frontrunner — and her early elimination one of the most talked-about moments in the show’s history. She parlayed that momentum into a globe-spanning career, touring with Jennifer Lopez (including the acclaimed Las Vegas residency All I Have), becoming a trusted collaborator for legends like David Foster and Andrea Bocelli, and releasing her chart-topping 2021 holiday debut Christmas With You. Her 2022 original album I’m Good featured a standout collaboration with R&B icon Usher and cemented her as a songwriter with something real to say.
Now, with Melody Place behind her and a stack of new music in the pipeline, Toscano is stepping into what may prove to be her most powerful era yet. Pre-save “Redirected” here: https://us.list-manage.com/nhxWve4dXzF
