AUDIO: LoBi LoBianco – “Give Up The Ghost”
Milwaukee’s own LoBi LoBianco has quietly become one of the city’s most prolific and dependable songwriters, and with the release of their latest EP “Give Up The Ghost,” the project continues to stake its claim in the DIY-to-breakthrough pipeline.
Dropped on August 21st, “Give Up The Ghost” is a six-track offering that opens with “Nasty Weather”—a mid-tempo groover that simmers with moody restraint. The track pulses with a driving energy while maintaining a contemplative, almost melancholic atmosphere. It’s the kind of song that sits perfectly in that late-night headphone session zone: danceable enough to move to, but brooding enough to actually feel something. The production leans into spacious instrumentation with just a hint of instrumental passages that let the mood breathe.
This EP marks another chapter in a remarkably productive stretch for LoBi LoBianco. Following their 2024 album “Parlor Games” and a string of 2026 singles including “Algae” and “Concrete & Glass,” the project—currently rounded out by Garrett Holm on guitar and drums and Willow Bull on bass—continues to evolve while staying true to its Milwaukee roots.
For the uninitiated, LoBi LoBianco isn’t just a performer passing through the scene. The artist has been deeply embedded in Milwaukee’s independent music infrastructure, including involvement with DIY venues like the Oscillator Lounge. It’s that community-first mentality that infuses the music with an authenticity you can actually hear.
