For the Eternal Glory of Dundee — the mightiest power metal saga of our time is far from over. Scottish power metal titans Gloryhammer have officially announced their long-awaited fifth studio album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, due October 16 via Napalm Records. Pre-orders are live now, and yes, there is a wooden boxset with miniatures. Because of course there is.

A direct sequel to 2015’s Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards, the new record picks up the intergalactic torch dropped by Angus McFife V, the Crown Prince of Fife last spotted in the 2022 single “Fly Away.” This time, our hero tumbles through multidimensional wormholes and abandoned space stations on a journey across spacetime that lands him in the distant future of 1993, where destiny — and presumably several demonic sorcerers — awaits.

Across 11 tracks, Gloryhammer expand their sonic arsenal further than ever before. Expect classic power metal grandeur, thrash-tinged aggression, synth-driven high-energy rock, and sweeping orchestral moments large enough to soundtrack a planetary siege. The album was produced by the band and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe), giving the record a razor-sharp modern edge without sacrificing an ounce of theatrical absurdity.

The tracklist reads like a battle report from the front lines of the McFife dynasty: “Ultra Portam Astralem” opens the album with menacing drums and cinematic fanfare before “Ultimate Sacrifice” sets Kor-Virliath’s dark ambitions in motion. Previously released standalone single “On a Quest for Aberdeen” finally takes its rightful place in the wider narrative, followed by the gang-shout-ready live favorite in waiting, “Die with a Sword in My Hand.” “Silver Talon” and “Starfighters of Leuchars” salute the galactic fleet and Ser Proletius’ Space Knights of Crail, while “Warriors of Auchtermuchty” delivers exactly the kind of chant-along chorus you’d expect from a song about Zargothrax’s birthplace.

From there, “Pax Galactica” reunites Angus with a long-lost ally in the derelict halls of an abandoned spaceship, “Demonic Devotion” pushes into electronic-tinged territory, and “Hammer of Fate” sets up the grand finale. That finale is the nearly 13-minute, four-chapter monolith “The Celestial Warhost of the Dundonian Empire Marches to Space Against the Dark Sorcerer: Final Assault on Battlemoon X-22″ — a title that is somehow still not the longest thing Gloryhammer has ever done.

The album will be available in an absurdly generous spread of formats, including a Napalm Records EU Shop-exclusive Wooden Boxset (Digipak CD, 5 miniatures, 7” bonus LP, and an autographed card), a 1-LP White Label Edition with a 24-page LP-sized booklet, splatter and marbled gatefold vinyl variants, standard black gatefold vinyl, Digipak CD, and digital.

Gloryhammer will also embark on a massive European Album Release Tour with Majestica and Arion, kicking off on release day, October 16, in Toulouse, France, and rolling through Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, the Nordics, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and the UK before wrapping up November 22 in Glasgow. Prior to that, the band will hit Midalidare Rock in Bulgaria on July 12 and Brothers of Metal Open Air in Sweden on August 22.
