Some bands are formed in dive bars and dingy garages. SAVE US? They were forged in the DMs — which, honestly, feels very 2026 of them.

The transcontinental trio — vocalist Miguel Owls (California), guitarist Chris Biddiscombe (Bristol, UK), and drummer Benji Havercroft — have announced their new full-length, Death To Something, out October 16 via Solid State Records. Produced by Landon Tewers of The Plot In You, the record marks the band’s most ambitious statement yet, and to whet appetites, they’ve just released the video for the album’s title track.

The song, according to Owls, was the final piece written with Tewers and ended up naming the entire record. “Lyrically, it was inspired by my newborn son,” he explains. “The message is simple but powerful: sometimes there has to be a death to your old life in order to build a better one for the people you love. On this track, I dive into the struggles and hardships of my past, and how I had to finally cut the ties that kept weighing me down. It’s raw, personal, and honestly one of the most meaningful songs I’ve ever written.”

That kind of emotional weight is baked into the band’s very origin story. Owls was posting covers online from California’s Central Valley when Biddiscombe stumbled onto his Architects cover and slid into his TikTok DMs from over 5,000 miles away. The chemistry was instant, but the logistics were brutal — Owls was working a factory shift from 1 PM to 9:30 PM, meaning 5 AM writing sessions before punching the clock. That grind produced the LUCID EP and its breakout single “Distance,” which has since racked up over 2.6 million Spotify streams. The 2024 EXIST EP kept the momentum rolling, and by 2025 they had inked a deal with Solid State and decamped to Michigan to work with Tewers.

The band’s name isn’t just branding — it’s biography. “Chris and Benji were both ready to stop doing music,” Owls admits. “I was in the same boat. We were all on the edge of letting our dreams go. Out of nowhere, we found each other, went all the way in together, and the band genuinely saved us. We’re always dabbling in emotion, so our goal is to reach you on a human level.”

Death To Something spans twelve tracks, including “Chains,” “Last Of Me,” “Mente Fragmentada,” “No Holding Back,” “Seraphim,” “Far,” “Runaway,” “Bruised,” “Cry,” “Numb,” the title track, and closer “Stasis.”

Fans won’t have to wait long to hear the new material live, either. SAVE US will hit the road this fall as direct support for Saosin, kicking off October 23 at the House of Blues in Anaheim and wrapping November 28 at SOMA in San Diego. The nearly-two-month run hits major markets including Dallas, New Orleans, Nashville, New York, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, and Los Angeles.
