David Nail has always written like someone who pays close attention — to relationships, to memory, to the quiet moments between the big ones. So it tracks that as he steps into what may be the most pivotal chapter of his career, the Missouri-born singer/songwriter is doing what any smart, baseball-obsessed veteran would do: putting together a lineup he actually wants to go to bat with.

Nail has officially aligned with 117 Entertainment for management and public relations, tapping label founder Zach Farnum alongside publicist Allison York. New Frontier Touring’s Peter Loomis will handle worldwide booking, while his publishing home Carnival Music — led by longtime friend, collaborator, and former MCA-era producer Frank Liddell, along with President Brittany Hamlin and Emily McMannis — rounds out the roster. Together, they’re guiding Nail into the release of his highly anticipated new album, “Flowers,” due August 21, 2026.

For anyone who has followed Nail’s career — from major-label staples like “Let It Rain,” “Whatever She’s Got,” and “Red Light” to the more reflective, independent chapter he’s been quietly building since 2024 — this team-up feels less like a reset and more like a homecoming. Liddell produced the records that put Nail on the map, and reuniting with him for this next phase says a lot about the kind of art Nail is chasing right now: honest, lived-in, unhurried.

“One of the great honors of my career is to have been involved with David all these years. He is making his most inspiring music right now, and it’s a lot of fun to watch,” said Liddell. Farnum echoed the sentiment, calling Nail “one of the musical diamonds in the rough of our generation,” while Loomis pointed to the “authentic songs and live show” that continue to connect Nail with audiences across the country.

That live show is a big part of the story. Nail’s ongoing Down To The Studs Tour strips everything back to a guy, a guitar, and the songs — playing listening rooms, small theaters, and a run of full-band festival dates through the summer and fall. Upcoming stops include The Basement East in Nashville (Aug. 29), City Winery in Montgomery, NY (Sept. 9), The Ark in Ann Arbor (Sept. 18), and a Texas swing in November that hits Main Street Crossing in Tomball, Rockbox Theater in Fredericksburg, and Poor David’s Pub in Dallas. “Flowers” will be Nail’s first full-length album in more than a decade, following a steady run of singles — “If I Could Call,” “Why” featuring Aubrie Sellers, “Hotel Keys,” and “Pacing The Cage” (featured in Vanity Fair’s “Take No Prisoners” documentary) — plus 2026 releases “The Crown,” “Fare Thee Well,” and “She Knows.” If those songs are any indication, “Flowers” is shaping up to be the kind of record that rewards deep listening and repeat spins.
