Melody Place’s Sunset Lounge Lights Up CMA Fest Week at Four Seasons Hotel Nashville
Nashville knows how to throw a party during CMA Fest week, but Melody Place just raised the bar. The boutique Music City label hosted its first-ever Sunset Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel Nashville, turning an intimate evening into one of the most talked-about gatherings of the week. Emceed by The Nashville Briefing’s Zak Kuhn alongside label head Sandy McGraw, the night delivered the kind of up-close performances fans usually only dream about.
Headlining the evening was country powerhouse Sara Evans, who reminded everyone why she has been a defining voice of country pop for three decades. Digging into hits like “Suds in the Bucket” and “A Little Bit Stronger,” Evans traded verses with a surprise guest — 16-time GRAMMY winner David Foster — while previewing songs from her upcoming We Got The Beat headlining tour running through late 2026. With more than 6 million albums sold and new music teased for the near future, Evans is far from slowing down.

Nashville-based vocalist Pia Toscano brought her signature blend of grit and grace to the stage, offering fans a preview of a “redirection” for her forthcoming album. Her performances of “All the Way There” and “Pretty Ugly” showcased the kind of vulnerability and vocal firepower that has made her one of the city’s most compelling singers.
Katharine McPhee took a slightly different route, sitting down for a heartfelt Q&A about her career on stage and screen — including her recent Grand Ole Opry moment with Riley Green. The singer-actress confirmed she’s been holed up in Nashville writing new music, so keep an ear out.
Classical-pop crossover artist Jackie Evancho, who first captivated audiences on America’s Got Talent at just 10 years old, delivered a striking performance of her delicate single “Behind My Eyes,” joined by founding Smash Mouth guitarist Greg Camp. Evancho confirmed she is back in the studio working on her next project.
Rounding out the night, rising country act Braden Hull charmed the room with his North Carolina drawl and easy charisma. He rolled through his single “End This Way,” the unreleased “Trucks Are For,” and his brand-new track “Ain’t No Reason Not To.” Hull will also hit the road this summer supporting labelmate Sara Evans on select tour dates.
Melody Place continues to prove that boutique labels can punch well above their weight. Founded in 2018 by Chairman Leigh Shockey and led by President/GM Sanborn McGraw and COO Tony Gottlieb, the label’s roster spans country, pop, classical crossover, and Broadway. Up next: the Dan Seals collaboration album, Dan Seals & Friends: The Last Duet, arriving August 28.
If the Sunset Lounge was any indication of what Melody Place has cooking, Nashville’s independent label scene just got a lot more interesting. Keep an eye on melodyplace.com for release news, tour announcements, and whatever surprise collaborations they pull out of their hat next.
