The RIAA Platinum-certified Southern California crew dropped their ninth full-length album, 7 Seas, today via Better Noise Music, and it’s every bit as sun-drenched, genre-blurring, and effortlessly cool as longtime fans have come to expect.

Recorded as another evolution in the Dirty Heads catalog, 7 Seas keeps the band’s signature brew intact — sun-kissed reggae, breezy hip-hop, boundary-breaking alternative, and hazy pop — while pushing the sonic envelope with forward-thinking experimentation and genre-busting bangers. In other words: it’s the Dirty Heads you love, just with more horizon in front of them.

Alongside the album, the band shared “2 Young,” a standout track that features vocalist Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell trading verses with his own daughter, Sophia Lynn. It’s a full-circle, pass-the-torch moment that hits harder than expected.

“I remember Sophia sitting in a high chair while we were writing ‘Lay Me Down,’ so to now have her featuring on our album is very special,” Duddy says. “Her voice was meant for this song.”

Sophia Lynn, freshly graduated from high school and stepping into a new chapter, echoed the sentiment: “Getting to work with Dirty Heads was such a full circle moment for me. This track is so meaningful, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it. Growing up is exciting, but it can also be confusing, overwhelming, and messy. I hope this song reminds people that at whatever stage in life they’re at, it’s okay to not have everything figured out.”

The album rollout has been building steadily. Title track “Seven Seas” has already racked up over 3.1 million streams and earned “Song of the Week” honors from Daily Reggae, while the upbeat follow-up “One of Those Days” is currently a Top 10 hit at Alternative Radio and closing in on the Top 5. Earlier this week, the band celebrated the release with an intimate Q&A and listening party at the iHeartRadio Honda Lounge in Los Angeles, which will stream on VEEPS in the coming days.

Dirty Heads are also doing more than just making waves musically. Last month, frontman Jared Watson linked up with 4ocean at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo to pull plastic from the shoreline. TOUR TIME: Starting July 11 in Shakopee, MN, Dirty Heads hit the road for a massive co-headline run with 311, featuring support from Ocean Alley, Atmosphere, and ROME across various dates, plus festival stops and headline shows scattered throughout.
