There’s something about an old flame that just refuses to stay extinguished — and Nashville power trio DELTONA are betting a can of gasoline on it. The fast-rising three-piece just dropped their smoldering new single “Let It Burn” via The Core Records, and it might be the most emotionally charged thing they’ve committed to tape yet.

Where last month’s “Party’s In The Back” leaned into boot-stomping, tailgate-ready swagger, “Let It Burn” pulls the shades down and turns the amps to a slow simmer. Vocalist Ned Abernathy, guitarist Caleb Miller, and drummer Chris Deaton lean into moody guitar tones and a brooding rhythm that builds toward one hell of a chorus: “Just throw some gasoline on the old flame we were / Light it up / And let it burn.” It’s the kind of hook that lodges itself somewhere between your ribs and your bad decisions.

“‘Let It Burn’ has always been a song that we knew we had to release,” the band shared. “It’s a story about going back to the old flame that you can’t help but go back to. The song has attitude and grit and we can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”

Co-written by DELTONA alongside AJ Pruis (Megan Moroney, Carly Pearce) and Lauren McLamb (Dierks Bentley, Josh Ross), the track was once again produced by the band’s go-to collaborator Jason Massey (Cole Swindell, Kelsea Ballerini). The result is a painfully candid portrait of that push-pull between better judgment and enduring desire — the kind of relationship you know you should walk away from, but somehow keep circling back to at 1 a.m.

The single arrives on the heels of a whirlwind stretch for the trio. DELTONA tore through a packed-house show during CMA Fest week, turned up trackside to support NASCAR’s 23XI Racing team (a fitting nod to the high-octane energy baked into their name), and were recently praised by Atwood Magazine for “blending Eric Church-sized swagger and a healthy dose of country-rock chaos into one of Nashville’s most entertaining new acts.”

Less than a year removed from their debut single “Heartbreak Fix,” the band has already stacked up an arsenal of arena-sized songs — from the confessional “Love Don’t Love Me” to the brutally funny “How To Not Help A Heartbreak” and the slow-burning ballad “Cared Enough to Cry.” They’ve shared stages with Rodney Atkins, George Birge, Cooper Alan, Avery Anna, and Lee Brice, and they’re heading out this weekend to support multi-platinum hitmaker Jordan Davis.
