Movements Drop Cinematic “Everything Is Fine” Visualizer, Announce New Album ‘Happier Now’

Movements have never been a band content to sit still, and their latest offering proves it. The Southern California post-hardcore stalwarts just dropped the visualizer for their new single “Everything Is Fine,” and it’s the kind of moody, mercurial track that sneaks up on you, plants itself in your brain, and refuses to leave.

The song arrives ahead of the band’s highly anticipated fourth full-length album, Happier Now, out September 4 via Fearless Records. Once again produced by GRAMMY-winner Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, Circa Survive), the record marks a full-circle moment for Movements, blending the raw emotional pull of their earlier work with the more expansive sonic palette they explored on 2023’s RUCKUS!

“‘Everything Is Fine’ is one of those songs that took a while to get right,” singer Patrick Miranda explains. “It went through multiple different versions before we landed on this one, and it ended up being one of my favorite choruses on the record. It’s a song about anxiety, and I think fans of the earlier Movements subject matter will really enjoy this one.”

That anxiety is baked into every corner of the track. Known for their discordant, angular post-hardcore, Movements pivot here into something more cerebral — a contemplative post-punk anthem built around a chorus that practically begs you to sing along. And when Miranda repeats “Everything is fine,” you’re left wondering: is it, though? That tension between reassurance and unease is the beating heart of what Movements do best, and it bodes very well for Happier Now.

The full tracklist for Happier Now includes “Pulse,” “Dissolve Me,” “Everything Is Fine,” the title track “Happier Now,” “Flowerbed,” “Back in My Ways,” “Spellbound,” “Ill at Ease,” “Live by the Sword,” “Everyone I’ve Ever Been,” “Fragile Hands,” and “Separate.”

Fans won’t have to wait long to hear these songs live, either. Movements will hit the road across the U.S. in October and November with support from Balance and Composure, Midrift, and NIIS. The trek kicks off October 7 in Seattle at Showbox SoDo and wraps November 14 at Santa Ana’s Observatory Festival Grounds, with stops in Portland, Denver, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Dallas, and more along the way.

Movements are also performing on the Warped Tour this summer — a nostalgic nod to the scene that raised them and further cementing their status as elder statesmen of the modern post-hardcore world. The struggle, as they’d say, has never sounded so sweet.

Pre-order Happier Now and stream “Everything Is Fine” now. If this single is any indication, September 4 can’t come fast enough.
