British Soul Singer MT Jones Brings His Fall U.S. Tour to Milwaukee’s Anodyne Coffee on September 25
There’s a particular kind of magic that happens when a voice arrives that feels both brand new and somehow already familiar. That’s the trick British soul singer and songwriter MT Jones has been pulling off across sold-out UK rooms and his first U.S. headline dates, and Milwaukee gets its turn on Friday, September 25, 2026, when Jones plays Anodyne Coffee as part of his Fall U.S. tour.
Jones started out as a teenage busker on the streets of England. These days, he’s touring internationally, being name-checked by Atwood Magazine as having “a voice that recalls the warmth of Donny Hathaway and the depth of Leon Bridges,” and being tapped as one of Earmilk’s “Artists to Watch in ’26.” Not bad for a guy who used to pass the hat.
The Milwaukee show lands smack in the middle of a stacked run that includes a stop at Americanafest in Nashville on September 18, dates in Minneapolis (7th St. Entry) and Chicago (Schuba’s) bookending the Anodyne gig, and a big LA headline show at the Moroccan Lounge on October 7. Add in his recent selection to Taco Bell’s Feed The Beat 2026 Class and a co-sign from Sirius XM’s “Spectrum” and WXPN’s World Cafe, and it’s clear this is one of those “saw him before he blew up” moments hiding in plain sight at a coffee roastery on West Bruce Street.
Jones released his debut album JOY back in March 2026, followed by the three-song live EP Sofa Sessions: Live at Maida Vale Studios, recorded for BBC Radio 2 and featuring stripped-down takes on “Why I Cry,” “Gentle Reminder,” and a genuinely gorgeous cover of Olivia Dean’s “So Easy (To Fall In Love).” The whole thing sits comfortably between classic ’60s and ’70s soul, modern R&B, and a jazz-schooled sense of restraint. It’s the kind of record that rewards a small room, live instrumentation, and a crowd willing to actually listen, which, conveniently, is exactly what Anodyne Coffee is built for.
Tickets for the September 25 show at Anodyne Coffee (224 W Bruce St, Milwaukee, WI) are on sale now via Venue Pilot. If you’ve been looking for an excuse to see a future headliner while he’s still playing intimate venues, this is your sign.
