Cherry Bomb — the Los Angeles-based solo project of MisterWives frontwoman Mandy Lee — has just delivered her most euphoric release yet. “Sorry You’re Not Sorry” is a disco-pop sermon of biblical proportions, cranking violin pomp and synth melodies to full tilt while turning heartbreak into a full-body dance floor exorcism. If her earlier singles hinted at the world she was building, this one throws the doors of the church wide open.

At its core, “Sorry You’re Not Sorry” is a song about closure — the kind you have to grant yourself when the apology you deserved is never coming. “It’s for the pivotal moment when you stop begging closed doors to open and make peace with the grief that comes with choosing closure over receiving it,” Lee explains. “It’s no surprise pain and pleasure are processed in the same part of the brain, and perhaps that’s why I often blur the line between the two in music.” The result is a track that alchemizes hurt into heartbeats, pumping the pain away one shimmying verse at a time.

The accompanying music video, which debuted exclusively via Atwood Magazine, is a maximalist fever dream. Featuring the Haus Of Cherry — a procession of dancers, drag queens, showgirls, and divas — the visual channels the neon flamboyance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, complete with feather boas, sky-high heels, and a dazzling drag priest presiding over a convent of showgirl nuns. “The Haus Of Cherry dismantles a world I didn’t feel love and acceptance in,” Lee says, “and it puts it back together anew with the help of a congregation of divas, a dazzling drag priest, and convent of showgirl nuns.” Shame, in other words, has no pew in Cherry Bomb’s church.

Atwood Magazine put it perfectly, calling the track “a dynamic, disco-drenched pop exorcism that channels all the apologies that never came into a glittering, feverish, full-body celebration of self-liberation” and cementing Cherry Bomb as “one of 2026’s freshest, boldest, and most utterly irresistible pop arrivals.”

The single also arrives with major live news: Cherry Bomb will make her solo festival debut at All Things Go in New York City on September 27, joining the first-ever all-women-led lineup for a major music festival alongside MUNA, Grace Ives, hemlocke springs, and Carly Rae Jepsen. It’s a fitting stage for a project that has, from the jump, framed itself as both a party and a manifesto.
