SKiN GRAFT Sends In The Reinforcements: Dazzling Killmen & Point Line Plane Close Caterwaul, Squid Pisser Announce Two U.S. Tours

If SKiN GRAFT Records is running things by remote control from abroad this year, you would never know it from the schedule. Label boss Mark Fischer’s latest News Desk dispatch reads less like an update and more like a battle plan — two reformed noise-rock legends about to storm the Midwest, a synth-punk resurrection record finally back on shelves, and one of the loudest bands in the underground announcing not one but two North American tours.

Here is everything worth clearing space on your calendar for.

Dazzling Killmen and Point Line Plane Take the Midwest — and Close Out Caterwaul

The recently reformed Dazzling Killmen — the St. Louis math-metal crushers whose 1994 record “Face Of Collapse” still sounds like a knife fight in a machine shop — are back on the road with newly rebooted Portland synth/punk duo Point Line Plane. It is exactly the kind of pairing you only get from a label that spent the ’90s inventing “Now Wave” and never quite let the joke die.

The bands are hitting three cities this weekend, culminating in a headline slot on the closing night of the fifth annual Caterwaul Festival in Minneapolis.

Dazzling Killmen & Point Line Plane
Fri 6/5/26 — Chicago, IL — Sleeping Village (with BIG’N!)
Sat 6/6/26 — Madison, WI — High Noon Saloon (with The Crosses!)
Sun 6/7/26 — Minneapolis, MN — Caterwaul Fest

SKiN GRAFT is among the labels sponsoring Caterwaul this year, and while Mark cannot make it stateside to man a table, the bands are hauling merch, new records, and a stack of complimentary SKiN GRAFT stickers. If you cannot get to Minneapolis, the label is asking fans to help underwrite the sponsorship by hitting up their Bandcamp shop — a perfectly reasonable ask, considering what is currently in the catalog.

Point Line Plane’s Long Lost Debut, Finally on Vinyl

Speaking of Point Line Plane: their self-titled debut, originally co-released on CD in the early 2000s by Xeroid Records and Sincere Brutality and out of print for over two decades, has been restored, remastered, and given its first ever vinyl and digital release. The first pressing arrives on 8-Bit Blue Vinyl with a double-sided “Footlong” OBI featuring the artwork of original designer E*Rock. The CD includes an exclusive bonus track, “Descender: 2003” — the original recording of a song the band later re-cut for “Smoke Signals.”

Small hiccup worth mentioning: an eleventh-hour manufacturing error on the CD sent the pressing plant back to the drawing board. The repress just wrapped in time for the first Chicago show, but some mail orders were delayed. As a peace offering, SKiN GRAFT has added “Descender: 2003” to the digital download folder on the album’s Bandcamp page. It is not streaming anywhere else — not even on the Bandcamp page itself. Buy the CD, download the digital LP, and you will find a fourteenth track quietly waiting for you.

You can catch the newly restored music video for the album’s opening track, “Death Dance 2000,” originally created by cover artist E*Rock in 2003 and re-rendered in high definition, on the SKiN GRAFT YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@SkinGraftRecords

Two tours. Forty-plus dates. One extremely appropriately named band. If you have never had the pleasure of a Squid Pisser show, imagine a wall of piercing electronic torment fronted by a lunatic — then imagine it in a room with sixty of your friends. Bring earplugs. Bring a helmet.

Support the Cause

Whether you are grabbing a Caterwaul weekend pass, pre-ordering the Blue Vinyl Point Line Plane LP, snagging a Squid Pisser ticket, or just kicking a few bucks toward the label that keeps unearthing this stuff — this is the good kind of weekend to be paying attention to what SKiN GRAFT is doing. Twenty-six years into the century and the “Now Wave” flag is still flying.

Long live the noise.
