Out today via The Core Records, “What’s His Name?” is the latest offering from the Nashville-based all-female trio — Taylor Edwards, Jillian Steele, and Rachel Wiggins — and it may just be their sharpest showcase yet. Opening with the tongue-in-cheek confession, “What’s his name? / It’s on the tip of my tongue / Think it starts with J / Then again, I could be wrong,” the song trades in tears for a smirk, capturing that delicious moment when heartbreak finally gives way to indifference.

Produced by Sam Sumser and Sean Small, and co-written by the trio alongside Sumser and Small, “What’s His Name?” leans all the way into the witty songwriting, irresistible hooks, and stacked three-part harmonies that have quickly turned Just Jayne into one of country music’s most talked-about new groups. The musicianship is warm and rootsy, but the lyrical bite is pure sugar-coated payback — a breakup song that plays like a victory lap.

“We wrote this one for John, Jack, Josh, and Jake… all the boys we swore we’d never get over and now can barely remember their names,” the trio shared. “The response to this song already has blown us away, and we’re so excited to finally put it out into the world today. Thank you for loving this one with us already. We can’t wait to scream it with you live soon.”

The new single continues an undeniable run for the trio, following recent releases “Love A Loser,” “Death & Taxes,” “Breathe,” “The Way We Were,” and “Climate Change,” the latter landing on the star-studded Nobody Wants This Season 2: The Soundtrack. Just Jayne were also recently featured on Taste of Country’s “RISERS: 2026 Artists to Watch” roundup, with the outlet noting that the group is “bringing beautiful three-part harmonies back to country music.”

On the road, the trio are riding an equally impressive wave. After making their international debut at C2C Festival in London earlier this year, Just Jayne have been supporting multi-platinum hitmaker Nate Smith on his Long Live Country Rock and Roll Tour, with festival stops including CMA Fest in Nashville and LASSO MONTRÉAL on August 15.
