She’s Green Drift Into the Subconscious With “Close Your Eyes” Ahead of Bonnaroo Debut and July EP Release

Minneapolis “moss music” purveyors she’s green have shared “close your eyes,” the final glimpse into their forthcoming EP swallowtail, arriving July 10, 2026 via Photo Finish Records. If shoegaze’s unwritten rule is to bury the vocals under a wall of guitar, she’s green continue to happily ignore the memo — Zofia Smith’s crystalline upper register floats above the swirl like something remembered from a dream you can’t quite place.

Which, as it turns out, is exactly the point.

“‘close your eyes’ is about a mysterious person who kept recurring in my dreams,” bandleader Zofia Smith explains. “In those dreams, we shared a life together by the ocean. Waking up and realizing they weren’t real left a lasting impression on me, leaving me wondering about our connection to our dreams, how my mind could have created this person, or if I knew them in a past life.”

The track leans into that liminal space between sleep and waking, layering lush guitar riffs over a slow descent into the subconscious. The accompanying music video — premiering today — recreates Smith’s blue-tinged vision of a phantom life with a stranger, blurring the line between memory and invention.

“close your eyes” caps a run of standout singles from swallowtail, following the ephemeral “empty house,” the reverb-drenched “paper thin,” and February’s thunderous “mettle.” Together, the seven tracks form the second half of what the band envisions as a full-length arc, building on the shimmering dream-pop foundation of last year’s Chrysalis EP.

The timing couldn’t be better. she’s green kick off a massive stretch of touring next week as they continue their North American run supporting Turnover and Narrow Head, with a first-ever Bonnaroo appearance set for Friday, June 13 at Plaza 5 in the Outeroo Campgrounds. From there, the band rolls through the South, Southwest, and West Coast before heading overseas for debut appearances at Reading & Leeds and a European headlining run that stretches into September.

For a band that describes their sound as music for “wandering into the forest and getting lost there,” 2026 is shaping up to be the year she’s green stop being a well-kept secret and start being everyone’s favorite discovery. Pre-order swallowtail now, catch them on the road, and — if you’re at Bonnaroo — do yourself a favor and wander over to Plaza 5.
