Marlon Hoffstadt & southstar Drop Sultry New Single “I Like” — Plus a Massive Festival Run Ahead
Berlin’s dance underground just delivered another moment. Today, Marlon Hoffstadt — the producer, DJ, and self-anointed “DJ Daddy Trance” who Mixmag recently called “a global dance phenomenon, a defining DJ of the now” — teams up with fellow Berliner southstar for “I Like,” a shimmering new single out now via Capitol Records in partnership with Goodlife Management and MC3.
Built on cascading keyboards and a hypnotic, driving beat, “I Like” is a sultry little postcard from the dancefloor — the kind of track that captures that specific 2 a.m. thrill when a night out tips into something more romantic, more electric, more possible. It’s warm, it’s weightless, and it’s engineered to detonate a festival tent.

“I Like” follows Hoffstadt’s uplifting recent single “Breathe” (freshly remixed with Morgan Seatree) and arrives on the heels of his official remix of aespa’s smash “Lemonade.” It’s also the latest chapter in a genuinely wild year for him: he made his Coachella debut in April, brought the rave to the Sahara tent, and closed out Weekend 1 with a surprise B2B set with Anyma in the Do LaB — where LISA of BLACKPINK jumped on the mic for “Bad Angel.” During Weekend 2, he debuted his edit of KATSEYE’s “Gnarly,” which promptly lit the internet on fire.
Then there’s southstar. Born Leon Kirschnek, he’s emerged from the Berlin underground as a symbol of a new global club movement — raw, honest, and allergic to overproduced gloss. His breakout track “Miss You” hit No. 11 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No. 71 on the Billboard Global 200, and he’s since toured Australia and the U.S., delivered a landmark Boiler Room: Belfast set, and collaborated with Empire of the Sun as a full creative partner. On “I Like,” his fingerprints are all over the track’s tension and atmosphere — the parts that make you feel it in your chest before your feet catch up.
If you want to catch Hoffstadt in the wild, you have options. A lot of options. His 2026 summer and fall run is genuinely absurd, with stops at Parklife, Tomorrowland, Paradise City, FVDED in the Park, Airbeat One, Street Parade, Boomtown, CRSSD, and Portola — plus a free rave at Amnesia Ibiza on July 8 that will almost certainly be talked about for years.
