Pennsylvania’s heavy music scene has been quietly incubating something nasty, and its name is UltraViolent. The band — the brainchild of vocalist Brett Anspach (Galactic Empire, Monument Of A Memory) and bassist/vocalist Avery LeVan — has just unleashed the video for their pulverizing new single “Eyes of God,” and it hits like a sermon delivered through a stack of Mesa cabinets.

“Eyes of God” is the first taste of the band’s upcoming project, NOTHING IS WORTH BELIEVING, and it arrives on the heels of their recently released track “Supermassive.” Where a lot of modern metal bands lean on studio polish to sell their vision, UltraViolent lean on tension — thunderous riffs, dynamic vocal turns, and a climactic final act that reframes divine revelation as a straight-up confrontation rather than a moment of salvation.

“‘Eyes of God’ is one of the first songs this current lineup has written,” Anspach explains. “We’re moving past an old era and revamping the definition of UltraViolent. The song comes from a place of anger towards the reverence of a deity who allows corruption and blind faith to dictate the world’s decisions and foster immorality. The song’s punishing energy leads to a climactic final act that treats seeing the eyes of god not as salvation, but as a final confrontation. I truly feel this song is just the start of something special for this band.”

The band has been sharpening its edges since 2024, when they dropped two singles and their self-produced EP AFTERMATH. Momentum carried them into 2025, where UltraViolent performed on behalf of August Burns Red during ABR’s induction into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame — and were voted “Best Metal Band” by the Hall of Fame committee that same year. Not a bad rookie card.

Their live résumé is stacking up just as fast, with shared stages alongside All That Remains, Gideon, If Not For Me, Polaris, Silent Planet, Varials, and more. Rounding out the current lineup are guitarists Danny Koury and Bryce Delp and drummer Kevin Abt — a five-piece clearly built to bruise.
