Scarlett O’Hara Get Glitchy on New “Common Side Effects” Video — Watch Now
South Texas metalcore outlaws Scarlett O’Hara are proving that everything really is bigger in the Lone Star State. Fresh off the one-two punch of “REDRUM” and “BREAK ME,” the band has just unleashed their most ambitious sonic experiment of 2026 — a cyberpunk-tinged rager called “Common Side Effects.”

Where their previous singles leaned into pure metalcore muscle, “Common Side Effects” cranks up the BPM and injects a heavy dose of industrial DNA into the bloodstream. Glitchy electronics collide with crunchy riffs and polished, soaring vocals, creating a track that feels like the soundtrack to a neon-soaked dystopian riot.
“‘Common Side Effects’ is a heavier, faster track than both ‘REDRUM’ and ‘BREAK ME,’ leaning more into a cyberpunk-industrial metal atmosphere than ever before,” says vocalist Logan Burns. “We wanted the track to be a solid blend of both heavy and electronic elements, exploring different facets of the industrial sound while still maintaining the signature Scarlett O’Hara DNA.”
Mission absolutely accomplished.
Formed in 2008, Scarlett O’Hara have been quietly (and sometimes very loudly) shaping the metalcore landscape for nearly two decades. Their fusion of pummeling riffs, electronic textures, and hook-driven vocals has earned them three consecutive Billboard chart placements, regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane, and coveted festival slots at Welcome To Rockville (2021 and 2022), Louder Than Life, and Inkcarceration. Along the way, they’ve shared stages with genre titans like Bring Me The Horizon, The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria, Underoath, and Motionless In White.
Working with Grammy-nominated producers, the band has crafted a discography that refuses to sit still — and “Common Side Effects” is arguably their boldest step yet. If this is the trajectory for 2026, metalheads should buckle up. There’s clearly plenty more coming.
