New Jersey has long been fertile ground for rock bands who know their way around a hook, and SAGE are the latest crop to prove the Garden State still has plenty left to grow. The East Coast four-piece — vocalist Mike Rafter, vocalist and guitarist James Benedetto, guitarist Chris Coletti, and drummer Nick Perrone — have just dropped the video for their new single “Lost,” and it’s the kind of song that lodges itself in your head and refuses to leave.

“‘Lost’ is about being stuck in something you feel too deeply to walk away from, even when you know you probably should,” Rafter explains. “It’s that kind of connection where every goodbye feels temporary, and every moment apart just pulls you back in harder. It lives in that tension between letting go and not knowing who you are without that person. We’re really proud of this one, and we hope it resonates with anyone who’s ever felt caught in a cycle.”

Musically, “Lost” is hooky as all get-out — the kind of chorus built for windows-down summer drives — but SAGE aren’t content to let you coast. Right when you’ve settled into the groove, the song pivots into a brutal, wonderfully unexpected breakdown that’s practically engineered to open up a pit. It’s the sound of a band that understands the assignment: nostalgia and modern energy, melody and muscle, all in the same three-and-a-half minutes.

Founded in 2023, SAGE moved fast. Their 2024 debut EP, Heartwired, put their songwriting chops on full display, blending heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and heartfelt lyrics into a package that helped them build serious momentum on the scene. “Lost” follows “Deep End,” their debut single for new label home The Artery Foundation — the storied hard rock imprint responsible for the early careers of A Day To Remember, Motionless In White, Beartooth, Sleeping With Sirens, and countless other genre cornerstones.
