The Woods Set Sail With New Single “Same Boat” — Out June 12, 2026

If pristine three-part harmonies and sun-warmed country songwriting are your thing — and honestly, whose thing isn’t that? — you’re going to want to circle June 12, 2026 on the calendar. That’s the day Nashville trio The Woods drop their new single “Same Boat,” and it’s shaping up to be one of those songs you accidentally play on repeat until your roommate starts humming it in the shower.

Made up of Raquel Cole, Dan O’Rourke, and Leland Rooney, The Woods have quietly built a devoted following opening for the likes of Tim McGraw, The Cadillac Three, and Clint Black. Their sound is that rootsy, organic, gather-around-the-mic style that draws a straight line back to the golden era of 70s folk rock — think Eagles, think Fleetwood Mac, think the kind of vocal blend that makes you close your eyes for a second even if you’re driving.

Cole takes the lead on “Same Boat,” and she does it with the easy confidence of a songwriter who knows the message lands. And what a message it is:

“It don’t matter what you smoke
Who you love or how you vote
If you’re down and out or rollin’ in the dough
We’re all in the same boat
So we might as well row.”

“‘We’re all in the same boat’ is a phrase we hear all the time,” the band shared. “We wanted to bring attention to the fact that we are all human and at the end of the day we all need each other. Even the people that sometimes might drive us crazy!”

Relatable? Extremely. In a moment where everyone seems to be shouting past each other, The Woods are quietly extending a paddle. The song, co-written by Cole alongside Molly Brown and Nell Maynard and produced by Blake Chancey, arrives via Big Shadow Glen Records — and every note reinforces why this trio’s chemistry has become their calling card.

Cole, a British Columbia native, brings evocative lead vocals that anchor the group. O’Rourke — a New Jersey-born road dog who’s lived everywhere from California to Arizona before landing in Nashville — and Rooney, a Dallas kid sharpened on the Texas circuit, round out the harmonies with the kind of instinct you can’t fake.
