Sunborn Sign to Solid State Records and Unleash Haunting New Video for “Infinity Pool”
French metal outfit Sunborn have officially found a new home, and it’s a heavy one. Solid State Records — the long-running label synonymous with genre-pushing heaviness — has welcomed the Montpellier four-piece to its roster, and the band is marking the occasion with a haunting new single and video for “Infinity Pool.”

Glitchy, moody, and built like a battering ram, “Infinity Pool” is exactly the kind of track that lingers long after the final note. Fair warning: it might just follow you into your dreams. The song trades in emotional isolation and the paralysis of watching the world spin on without you — a feeling that anyone who has spent too long doomscrolling at 2 a.m. can probably relate to.
“The song is a haunting take on emotional isolation, disconnection, and the quiet paralysis of watching life move forward without you,” vocalist Lino Chesnel explains. “This track captures the surreal feeling of existing inside your own enclosed world: suspended between reflection and reality, unable to fully connect with the lives unfolding around you. ‘Infinity Pool’ explores what it means to remain emotionally stranded. There’s a constant tension between longing and surrender, a desire to break free colliding with the fear that nothing will ever truly shift.”
Chesnel adds that the track is deeply personal: “At its core, it is about my own experience of dissociation in a hyperconnected world, but also searching for meaning inside the echo chamber of your own thoughts. I think that’s something a lot of people experience but struggle to put into words.”
Hailing from the south of France, Sunborn are the kind of band that thrives on contrast. They bridge the gap between digital and analog, between violence and harmony, blending unconventional influences into something that feels genuinely new. Melody is the beating heart of their songwriting, but the palette is wide open — they’ll cite the crushing intensity of Knocked Loose in one breath and the infectious global rhythms of Bad Bunny in the next, and somehow it all makes sense once you press play.
The band has been steadily building momentum with a run of powerful live performances, including a successful headline tour in January and a nationwide French support run alongside Resolve. Following a summer of festival dates, Sunborn will join Nordic favorites Atlas for an extensive UK and European tour this September, all while preparing what they describe as the most expansive and ambitious version of their sound yet.
Sunborn is Lino Chesnel (vocals), Dylan Vie (guitar), Enzo Covelli (bass), and Alois Jampy (drums). Keep an eye on this one — the past may be their inspiration, but the future is clearly where the story starts.
Press play on “Infinity Pool,” turn the lights down low, and let it do its work.
