Dominum Summon a Haunting Waltz with New Single and Video “Dark Melodies”

If you thought the undead were done knocking, think again. Germany’s theatrical modern metal outfit Dominum have just cracked the crypt open a little wider with their new single and video, “Dark Melodies” — the third taste of their forthcoming album Night Is Calling, due July 3, 2026 via Napalm Records.

Led by mastermind vocalist Felix Heldt (better known to the Living Dead Squad as “Dr. Dead”) alongside guitarist Tommy Kemp, bassist Patient 0, and drummer Victor Hilltop, Dominum have carved out a delightfully macabre niche in the metal world — one part horror-film aesthetic, one part arena-sized hook factory. “Dark Melodies” leans hard into the former, a haunting ballad in waltz time that trades blast beats for a slow, seductive pull. Think eerie atmosphere, cinematic strings, and a chorus built to echo off cathedral walls (or, more likely, festival tents full of face-painted zombies).

“I never had a problem being alone. At least, I thought I didn’t,” Dr. Dead says of the track. “But for some time now — far too long — I’ve been hearing these melodies. Always. They whisper in my mind, tugging at me, like a black shadow sneaking into my heart. Sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter, but always an unstoppable pull I cannot escape.”

Night Is Calling is the follow-up to 2024’s breakout The Dead Don’t Die, which crashed into the German Top 10 and sent Dominum out on the road with the likes of Bruce Dickinson, Avantasia, Battle Beast, and Peyton Parrish. Produced by Heldt and mixed by Jacob Hansen, the new record pushes the band’s twisted-carnival sound into bigger, bolder territory — heavier riffs, more cinematic drama, and choruses engineered for maximum crowd damage. The 13-track set includes the explosive opener “The Circus Is In Town,” fan-baiting anthems “Doctor Doctor” and “Nosferatu,” a Michael Jackson “Thriller” cover (yes, really), and a title track featuring Battle Beast.

Select formats — including a 2LP deluxe vinyl box and a 36-page earbook — come bundled with a bonus Live at Wacken 2025 album, available exclusively through Napalm Records Mailorder. Pre-orders are live now at http://lnk.to/DOMINUM-NightisCalling/napalmrecords.

Dominum will spend the summer tearing through European festivals, including a Loreley Freilichtbühne date on August 23 opening for Judas Priest and Thundermother. Then comes the main event: the Night Is Calling Tour 2026 with The Night Fright Orchestra, a 19-date headline run across Europe and the UK from November 24 through December 20, hitting Paris, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Vienna, London, Berlin, Munich and more.

The undead are on the march — willingly or otherwise, Dr. Dead is coming for your neighborhood. Pre-order Night Is Calling, cue up “Dark Melodies,” and get in line before the zombies do it for you.
