Fifty years in, and Accept still know how to make an entrance. The German heavy metal titans are kicking off their half-century celebration in the most Accept way possible: by taking one of the most iconic speed metal songs ever committed to tape and cranking it up with a supergroup lineup that reads like a metal Mount Rushmore.

The band has unleashed a brand-new re-recorded version of “Fast as a Shark,” the 1982 Restless and Wild classic that basically wrote the blueprint for speed metal as we know it. This time around, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and vocalist Mark Tornillo are joined by Phil Anselmo (Pantera) on vocals, Kirk Hammett (Metallica) on guitar, Billy Sheehan on bass, and Mikkey Dee (Motörhead, Scorpions) behind the kit. Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, it rips exactly as hard as you’d hope.

The track is the first offering from Teutonic Titans 1976-2026, Accept’s ambitious 50th-anniversary album arriving September 4 via Napalm Records. The record features 19 reimagined classics spanning the band’s formative years — from I’m a Rebel (1980) through Eat the Heat (1989) — with a staggering 50 guest musicians rotating through the lineup. No two tracks share the same cast, which means every song hits with a different flavor of chaos.

Hoffmann had plenty of fun with this one, even sneaking a curveball into the intro. “This song was so much fun,” he said. “We even re-recorded the intro in a Bavarian oompah style. A friend of mine lives in Bavaria, and he was in contact with one of those traditional Bavarian woodwind outfits, and they recorded the traditional German folk song ‘Ein Heller und ein Batzen’ for us, which was fantastic.”

For his part, Kirk Hammett kept it short and reverent: “A real honor to pay back the great inspiration Accept had for me!” When one of the most influential metal guitarists on Earth says your band shaped him, you’ve earned the victory lap.

The rest of the guest list is a genre-spanning who’s-who. Tobias Forge (Ghost) fronts “Save Us” with Ray Luzier on drums. Metal God Rob Halford takes on “Balls to the Wall” alongside Matthias Jabs. Billy Corgan and David Ellefson reimagine “Love Child.” Additional appearances come from K.K. Downing, Bobby Blitz, Hansi Kürsch, Chris Jericho, Ralf Scheepers, Ola Englund, Jeff Loomis, and more. The current Accept lineup — Hoffmann, Tornillo, bassist Martin Motnik, guitarist Philip Shouse, and drummer Christopher Williams — also delivers a fresh cut of “Hellhammer” with vocalist Jason McMaster.

“There is no better way to celebrate this 50-year anniversary than to have our musical peers, friends, and inspirations come together with us to record these classic Accept songs,” Hoffmann said. “I am honored and proud to share this with the world.”

Teutonic Titans 1976-2026 will be available in a stack of collectible formats, including a 2-LP Gatefold Liquid Edition, a 2-CD Deluxe Metal Box with flag, sweatband, lanyard, and backstage pass, a 2-CD Earbook, and multiple color vinyl variants — plus the standard digital release for those who like their metal delivered via Wi-Fi.

Accept are also deep into a massive 2026 touring cycle, hitting festivals across Europe this summer including Graspop, Hellfest, Rock Fest Barcelona, and Stonedead Festival, before launching a headline European tour in November and December with support from Dynazty and Tailgunner.
