Little Big Town Announce 12th Studio Album ‘It’s A Dying Art,’ Share New Song “Over and Over”

Twenty-five years in, Little Big Town aren’t just still standing — they’re doubling down on the messy, gorgeous, wonderfully human thing that got them here in the first place. The multi-platinum, GRAMMY-winning quartet of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook have officially announced their 12th studio album, It’s A Dying Art, arriving August 28th via MCA. And if the title sounds like a mission statement, well… that’s because it absolutely is.

Co-produced by two-time GRAMMY winner Gena Johnson (Jason Isbell, Dolly Parton, Brandi Carlile) alongside Little Big Town’s own Karen Fairchild, the record leans hard into the sound and spirit of human-made music. Think intimate storytelling, emotional balladry, and the kind of harmonies that remind you why this group has been the gold standard of country vocal groups for a quarter century. It’s a record built on trust, imperfection, and lived-in experience — the stuff algorithms can’t fake.

The 13-track project is stacked with heavy-hitting collaborations, too. Ashley Monroe joins the band for “Sucker For A Sad Song,” Jason Isbell lends his weathered gravitas to the relationship-worn “The Door,” and Kelsea Ballerini slips into the late-night soul of “Closing Time.” Elsewhere, the fiery “It’s Coming Around” and the visceral “The Idea” prove Little Big Town still know how to swing for the fences.

Alongside the announcement, the band have shared a brand new song from the album, “Over and Over” — written by Karen Fairchild, Ashley Ray, Jonnie Simpson, and Madi Yanofsky. The group debuted the track live during their standout Stagecoach set earlier this year, and the studio version is just as arresting. Earlier this spring, Little Big Town offered up the first taste of the record with “Hey There Sunshine,” which they debuted to widespread praise at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards. The Tennessean called it “a hopeful, healing moment,” while Billboard hailed the performance as “a timely message from one of country music’s greatest vocal groups.” Watch the ACM performance here: https://youtu.be/Q4thqUUQ8zw

Fans can grab the album in a range of physical and digital configurations, including CD, vinyl, and retailer-exclusive variants, with limited runs of signed and special color vinyl editions available exclusively at LittleBigTown.com.
