Dragged Under Ignite the Next Generation with New Single and Video “Rebel Son Rise!”
Dragged Under aren’t here to play nice — and their new single “Rebel Son Rise!” makes that abundantly clear. Out now via Mascot Records, the reunited Seattle powerhouse has unleashed a frenetic three-minute anthem aimed squarely at the kids inheriting this mess of a world.

For frontman Tony Cappocchi, this one is personal. Since the band’s last record, he’s become a father to two kids — and the reality of raising them in a world that rewards conformity clearly lit a fire under him. “This song is a message about how cruel the world can be, and it’s a plea for them to find their own path and always put their convictions and truth ahead of what society wants them to be,” Cappocchi explains, “whether that relates to the social status quo, politics, or religion. I just want them to be rebels and realize that what’s popular or approved by their peers isn’t always what’s right. It’s perfectly acceptable to be the one swimming against the current.”
Sonically, “Rebel Son Rise!” is exactly the vehicle that message deserves — punchy, urgent, and built for shouting along in a sweaty room full of strangers who suddenly feel like family. It follows their previous single “AlgoRHYTHM,” a middle-finger salute to algorithm surfers, and pushes the band’s post-reunion momentum even further into the red.
And what a reunion it is. Cappocchi, rhythm guitarist Sean Rosario, and drummer Dylan Roy are back alongside original members Ryan “Fluff” Bruce (guitar) and Hans Hessburg (bass), three years after Bruce and Hessburg’s abrupt exit left Dragged Under’s future hanging in the balance. “Our band was never better than it was with our core members — me, Sean, Hans, and Fluff,” Cappocchi says. “Those dudes have been as committed to Dragged Under and as stoked about it as they were when they first joined. Knowing that only made us want to be bigger than ever.”
The numbers back up the swagger. Between 2020’s debut The World Is In Your Way and 2022’s Upright Animals, Dragged Under have racked up over 100 million streams, torn through festival stages at Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Slam Dunk, Download, 2000Trees, Hellfest, and Full Force, and toured alongside Blessthefall, Beartooth, Sleeping with Sirens, Pierce The Veil, The Used, The Ghost Inside, and more.
“Rebel Son Rise!” isn’t just a comeback single — it’s a mission statement. Be on board, or be dragged under.
