BigWalkDog Announces Independent Album ‘Until Then,’ Out June 5th via UnitedMasters
BigWalkDog is officially planting his flag in the independent lane. The Mississippi-raised, Houston-based rapper announced today that his forthcoming album, Until Then, will arrive June 5th via UnitedMasters — a project that doubles as both a statement of autonomy and a reminder that he is very much still one of Southern rap’s most commanding voices.
At 6’8″ with a baritone to match, BigWalkDog has spent the last several years building a résumé most artists would kill for: an early cosign from Gucci Mane, a run on The New 1017 that produced Trick City and Playoff, the RIAA Gold-certified “Poppin” alongside Gucci, and the streaming juggernaut “Whole Lotta Ice” with Lil Baby and Pooh Shiesty. Until Then finds him operating without the label machinery — just the artist, his pen, and a catalog of stories rooted in the Delta’s tradition of raw, expressive storytelling.
The lead-up has been anything but quiet. First came “Hittin’ For,” a Cash Jundi-directed visual that paired sweeping cityscapes with day-in-the-life glimpses, positioning Walk as locked in and elevated. He followed it with “Forehead,” a Bankroll Got It-produced knock that leans into his natural pocket with instinctive delivery. The Teo Shot This-directed video plays out like a cinematic bank heist, cutting between tense narrative sequences and larger-than-life performance shots. Across 16 tracks, Until Then captures BigWalkDog at his most focused and self-assured, balancing street-rooted storytelling with the perspective of an artist who has navigated the industry and come out the other side sharper. The tracklist rolls out as follows: “Soul to Keep,” “Double Cup,” “Forehead,” “The Plot,” “Young Dro,” “At The Club,” “My Hood,” “Thoughts” (feat. DeeBaby), “On Ice,” “Hittin For,” “Love Me,” “How Deep is Your Love,” “Sinners,” “Double Shot,” “Take It to Trial,” and “Many Men.”
It’s a heavy slate, and one that positions Until Then as a pivotal moment — the sound of an artist who has weathered the cycles of the industry and is now stepping into his next phase entirely on his own terms. Presave Until Then now and mark your calendar for June 5th. If the singles are any indication, Walk isn’t just showing up — he’s setting the tone.
