Tucker Wetmore Goes Three-for-Three: “Brunette” Tops Country Radio Charts
Tucker Wetmore just pulled off the country music equivalent of a hole-in-one, a hat trick, and a walk-off homer all rolled into one. The Kalama, Washington native has officially gone three-for-three at Country radio, sending his latest single “Brunette” to No. 1 on both the Mediabase Country and Billboard Country Airplay charts this week. It’s his fastest-rising radio single to date, and it lands him in an elite club of country superstars whose first three singles all hit the top spot.
Following “Wind Up Missin’ You” (Dec. 2024) and “3,2,1” (Jan. 2026), “Brunette” now makes it a clean sweep for the newly minted ACM New Male Artist of the Year. And if you needed further proof that Wetmore is not messing around, “Brunette” has already blown past 300 million global streams, helping push his overall catalog north of 2.4 billion streams. That’s a lot of zeros for an artist who reached Nashville just six years ago.
Penned by Chris LaCorte, Chase McGill, Josh Miller and Blake Pendergrass, “Brunette” got its moment in the sun at the 61st ACM Awards, where Wetmore delivered a performance that Billboard said carried the “charisma of an arena headliner.” Not bad for a guy whose songwriting career technically started as a rehab project after a college football injury.
The momentum keeps building for the Back Blocks Music/MCA/Mercury Records signee, whose 2025 debut album What Not To became the biggest country album from a new artist last year, debuting at No. 15 on Billboard’s all-genre 200 Albums chart. Wetmore has already logged tour miles with Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis, and he just wrapped a sold-out first leg of The Brunette World Tour in London last month.
Up next: a return to Nashville’s CMA Fest on Thursday, June 4 at Nissan Stadium, followed by a stacked run of Brunette World Tour dates presented by NÜTRL Vodka Seltzer. The itinerary includes stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. (Oct. 27), the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (Aug. 23), Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. (June 21), and Chicago’s The Salt Shed (Sept. 18), with special guests including Maddox Batson, William Beckmann, George Birge, Braxton Keith, Jacob Hackworth and Stella Lefty rotating through the run. Wetmore will also link up with Jordan Davis, HARDY and Brooks & Dunn for select dates.
Billboard called him “on the doorstep of true stardom.” At this point, he’s already kicked the door in and made himself comfortable.
