Landon Smith Cranks the Volume on Restless New Single “Supertramp”

Landon Smith is back, and he’s not interested in playing it safe. The Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist just dropped his new single “Supertramp” via Lucille Records / MCA, and it’s the kind of song that sounds like it might fly apart at any second — in the best possible way.

Following the introspective ache of his recent release “Lavender” and his acclaimed 2025 debut EP Reckon So, “Supertramp” finds Smith at his most uninhibited. Gritty guitars, anthemic hooks, and that unmistakably raw vocal delivery collide into something that feels equal parts youthful recklessness and hard-won introspection. It’s modern Americana with country storytelling bones and rock ‘n’ roll swagger in its bloodstream.

Written by Smith alongside Jacob Fuls, Josh Fuls, and Kingston Lord, the track was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Dave Cobb — the same studio architect behind records by Brandi Carlile and Chris Stapleton. Cobb’s fingerprints are all over the song’s lived-in warmth, but the restless energy is pure Smith.

“‘Supertramp’ feels like the most honest representation of where I’m at right now sonically,” Smith says. “It’s loud, restless, emotional, and a little reckless in all the best ways. I’ve always loved music that feels like it’s barely holding itself together emotionally, and this song really lives in that space. It’s about chasing something you can’t quite hold onto while still trying to figure yourself out along the way.”

Smith first caught fire while gigging locally during college, when his breakout single “If You Want Me Tonight” crossed 14 million streams on Spotify. Fan favorites like “July 6th” and “Taking Off to Tennessee” followed, cementing him as one of Nashville’s most compelling young voices. In 2025, he hit the road hard — playing GATAJAM Festival in Statesboro, GA (opening for Riley Green and Ella Langley), CMA Fest in Nashville, and sharing stages with Tyler Halverson, Uncle Lucius, Gavin Adcock, Whiskey Myers, 49 Winchester, and Kashus Culpepper.

With “Supertramp,” Smith expands the sonic world introduced on Reckon So — bigger, more volatile, but never at the expense of the deeply personal songwriting at the core of his work. Consider it another glimpse into the steady stream of new music he’s promising throughout 2026.
