UK-based collective PRESIDENT have spent the better part of the last year operating like a rumor — anonymous, minimalist, and allergic to the usual industry playbook. Today, that quiet build-up gets a very loud exclamation point: the band has announced their debut full-length album, BLOOD OF YOUR EMPIRE, due September 4 via Atlantic Records.

To mark the announcement, PRESIDENT have also dropped the cinematic video for lead single “DOOM LOOP” — a track that sits squarely at the intersection of heavy music, electronic experimentation, and the kind of widescreen atmosphere that rewards headphones and a dark room. “The song is really about the strange tragedy of time — how we spend our lives chasing it, wasting it, and fearing it — only to realize its value once a moment is gone,” the band explains. “It’s a reminder for people to be present while they are actually living their lives, not just remembering them afterwards.”

The album itself is shaping up to be a heavy thematic lift. According to the band, BLOOD OF YOUR EMPIRE was born out of a personal existential crisis and a deeper reckoning with belief, mortality, and humanity’s complicated relationship with faith. “Religion has inspired incredible compassion, purpose, and beauty in the world — but it has also been responsible for unimaginable suffering and bloodshed throughout history. This album lives in the tension between those two truths.” Fittingly, the cover art is Eugène Delacroix’s The Battle of Poitiers — yes, the one currently hanging in the Louvre.

The ten-track record features previously released cuts “Angel Wings” and “Mercy” alongside new songs like “dark heaven,” “Pink Noise,” “Sleepwalker,” “Dionysus,” “This Will Divide Us,” “White Devil,” and the Ando San-assisted “Hate Figure.”
