AUDIO: Other Slater – “DANCE TILL YOU’RE DEAD”

Milwaukee’s electronic underground just got a fresh jolt of voltage. Other Slater has unleashed a new release, DANCE TILL YOU’RE DEAD, and it’s exactly the kind of late-night, neon-soaked listen that demands a sweaty basement, a sticky dance floor, or, at minimum, a pair of decent headphones and zero responsibilities until morning.

True to the title, this is music built for movement. Other Slater stitches together pulsing synths, hypnotic rhythms, and just enough grit to keep things interesting, landing somewhere between dancefloor catharsis and pure electronic mischief. There’s a propulsive, almost stubborn energy running through the release, the kind that suggests the producer is daring you to sit still. Spoiler: you won’t.

What makes DANCE TILL YOU’RE DEAD stand out is how it balances accessibility with character. The grooves are immediate, but there’s a producer’s ear at work in the textures, the builds, and those subtle left turns that reward repeat listens. It’s club-ready without being generic, weird in all the right places, and confident enough to commit to the bit suggested by that title.

For a Milwaukee scene that’s increasingly rich with electronic experimentation alongside its punk, indie, and hip hop staples, releases like this one are a welcome reminder that the city’s producers are pushing just as hard as its guitar bands. Other Slater is making a strong case for a spot at the front of that conversation.
