Gretchen Wilson to Honor America’s Fallen at Freedom 250 Memorial Day Tribute at Arlington National Cemetery
There are gigs, and then there are moments — the kind that ask an artist to leave the swagger at the door and bring nothing but reverence. On Monday, May 25, 2026, GRAMMY Award-winning country powerhouse Gretchen Wilson will step into one of those moments, performing at the Freedom 250 National Memorial Day Candlelight Tribute at Arlington National Cemetery.
Set against the sacred grounds of Arlington, the evening will serve as a national tribute to America’s fallen heroes through storytelling, music, remembrance, and reflection. The observance arrives as a centerpiece of America’s 250th anniversary year, inviting veterans, military families, and citizens from every corner of the country to gather in solemn unity.
“I am overwhelmed to have been asked to honor the fallen heroes and their families this Memorial Day,” said Wilson. “What a sacred place. I pray I do it justice.”
The program will spotlight the lives and legacies of American heroes whose courage continues to define the spirit of the nation. Attendees will hear the story of Medal of Honor recipient, West Point graduate, and Vietnam prisoner of war Captain Humbert “Rocky” Versace, whose faith and resilience in captivity became a lasting symbol of American valor. The tribute will also honor Captain Daniel W. Eggers, a United States Army Special Forces officer and Green Beret who gave his life in Afghanistan while serving alongside Afghan commandos in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel — a new-generation warrior carrying forward the legacy of service that defined the post-9/11 era.
Veteran and national security leader Jason Beardsley, Major General Patrick Henry Brady, acclaimed historian Dr. Mark Moyar, and members of the Eggers family will share deeply personal reflections on sacrifice and the enduring cost of freedom.
“Memorial Day is about more than remembrance,” said Beardsley, a veteran of the United States Navy and Army Special Operations Forces. “It is about preserving the legacy of those who gave everything for this country and ensuring future generations understand the true cost of freedom.”
For Wilson, the appearance lands in the middle of one of the busiest chapters of her career. The “Redneck Woman” hitmaker — eight million records sold and a trophy case stacked with hardware from the CMA, ACM, CMT, AMA, Billboard Music Awards, and the GRAMMYs — is currently rolling through her “Still Here for the Party” Tour. She took home the crown on Season 13 of The Masked Singer, served as tour manager on the Taylor Sheridan, Blake Shelton, and Keith Urban-produced CBS series THE ROAD, and recently dropped her new anthem “Redneck Shit” via a fresh partnership with Thirty Tigers. She’s also back in the studio re-recording her breakout Here For The Party album with a special guest artist featured on every track.
It’s a full-circle moment for an artist whose music has always celebrated everyday American grit — and on May 25, that grit will give way to grace as she lends her voice to the memory of those who never came home.
